Please read carefully all rules and deadlines as each scholarship is different

and will require two separate entries.

The Al Clements Memorial Scholarship-Award $300

Al Clements was an activist and home-schooling supporter in Texas. He served as a board member of the Texas Home School Coalition, and he and his family are long-time neighbors here in the City of Houston. After his work with Gulf Oil as a sales engineer he later became an executive assistant to Mayor McConn. Al and his wife Vickie, parents to 13 children, were pioneers of the Catholic home schooling movement. Al Clements’ valuable knowledge on legislative items, most importantly in the socio-political fields on the subject of home schooling rights and their social impact on our society has offered great insight to the importance of homeschooling rights. Many of our freedoms to homeschool today in Texas are due to his efforts. It is in this spirit that ARCH is honored to offer the Al Clements Memorial Scholarship in his memory. We wish to thank Mrs. Vickie Clements and her children for allowing ARCH to honor her husband's memory in this fashion.
