Honors Society

National Home School Honor Society


Eta Sigma Alpha is the first honor society established exclusively for homeschooled students. Founded in 1999, the purpose of Eta Sigma Alpha National Home School Honor Society is to recognize and encourage scholarship among home school students. ARCH is pleased to have sponsored a Catholic chapter, Kappa Delta.  

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS for Kappa Delta:


Mandatory Requirement for ESA membership:
A test score of 1800 (SAT) or 26 (ACT) or 180 (PSAT) or a 90% on the composite/complete battery on the IOWA or Stanford nationally normed standardized achievement tests is required for ESA membership.  All tests must be administered in a group setting.  Parent administered tests are not acceptable.



Additional Requirements as established by Kappa Delta Chapter:

  1. 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale. This GPA may include the parent transcript, early admission college courses, co-op or support group homeschool class grades, or similar coursework supervised/directed by the homeschooling parent.

  2. Names and contact information of two references who are willing to write letters of recommendation.  These references must be non-family members.

  3. Essay written by applicant.

  4. Applicant must be a practicing Catholic having received the age appropriate Sacraments.

  5. Applicants family must be members of ARCH

  6. Applicant must apply by March 31st of freshman sophomore or junior year of High School.


Approved applicants will be inducted at the ARCH Annual Graduation Mass each May.
