Scholarships
Have a left handed red-headed child, your husband a retired firefighter, or were you born in an airplane on a Thursday? Some times the requirements for "merit" based scholarships can be very confusing. Please remember to check with the college of your choice for their in house individual school scholarships, as the awards can be very large. The focus of this scholarship page is general merit based scholarships. In the past, some scholarship committees held a dim view of homeschoolers. That is not the case today! However, many of us don't have the time or the resources to look for what is available to our children.
We hope that this page literally will be of value to you. :) As more homeschoolers are winning merit scholarships, our efforts as homeschooling parents are supported in a real way that the outside community can understand.
At this time, I will be focusing on seniors entering college scholarships. As that base grows, I will add scholarships that are written for students already enrolled in college. If by viewing the following links, you find that the deadline for the scholarship has passed, please recheck in a few months. Many of the companies don't update the scholarship site until closer to application time. Often the deadlines for application are very early in the senior year of high school, so you really can't begin looking at this information too soon. If you are aware of a merit based scholarship that is not listed, please email us, info@arch-homeschool.org so we can share the information.
Good luck!
